Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)is an all India common engineering entrance examination of objective pattern which is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges and courses all over the country.

JEE-Advanced  is for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), while the JEE-Main exam is for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). Only the students selected in JEE Mains are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced.

JEE Main will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), twice a year in computer-based mode only.
To apply for JEE Main 2019 (minimum 50% marks in PCM). To get admission in NIT, a candidate must secure at least 75% marks in 10+2 Exam (65% for SC/ST category) or be in the top 20 percentiles in the 10+2 exam conducted by respective boards.

Admission to NITs/IIITs is based on your JEE Mains rank, which depends on your JEE Mains score and marks in board exams. Even if you don’t appear for JEE Advance, you can still get admission in NITs.

After qualifying the JEE Main, you are allowed to give JEE Advanced maximum two times in consecutive years. You can give JEE mains three times.

Paper Pattern for JEE (Main)

Physics – 30 questions
Chemistry – 30 questions
Mathematics – 30 questions
Total – 360 Marks
Duration- 3 Hrs

For each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
For correct answer, 4 marks is awarded.
